New-Years Weekend Structure Fire

On December 29, 2023 at 19:53 hours, companies were dispatched to a report of heavy smoke in the area of Roosevelt street. Police responded and confirmed a working structure fire. Upon arrival, crews from Engine 2-1 and Engine 1-1 performed searches and quickly extinguished fire in the basement of a 1 & 1/2 story residential structure. Crews experienced heavy smoke conditions throughout the home before performing horizontal ventilation. Thanks to the fast action of our members, the fire did not spread beyond the room of origin. Pequannock Police, First Aid Squad, and Wayne Company 5 were also on scene.
