Equipment Fire Inside Maintenance Garage

Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 11:39, Companies were dispatched up to Sunset Valley Golf Course for a general activated fire alarm. Upon arrival, Chief 1 upgraded the incident to a working fire inside of a detached 3-car garage and established fire command. Engine 2-1 dropped a forward lay from the hydrant and stretched a 1 & 3/4” attack line while 1-1 laddered the roof and cut open the center garage door to force entry. Upon forcing entry, the fire was found to be contained to a large commercial lawn mower. The fire was extinguished, heavy smoke was vented, and minor overhaul was performed before all units were released by Incident Command.
